I brought back some old enemies in this patch. The game should be more difficult now :D

Changes:
-removed the background music temporarily
-movement near walls should be smoother
-brought back the bouncing enemy
-brought back the double gun
-brought back the flies

Download link:

-Return to the menu - ESC or the circle on the PS4 controller and B on the XBOX controller

  1. Pretty nice game so far! Although it might be a bit too hard as it is. Most of the time I can't even complete a room. The biggest problem is the chaser enemies since they seem to spawn infinitely and since there is no invincibility after getting hit, you can quickly lose all your health in an instant in combination with the bullets of the other enemies. It just doesn't seem like the player has enough power to deal with anything. Maybe increasing either player speed or bullet speed would help, but right now its feels like the player is just vastly out gunned.

    1. Thanks for the review! :D
Yeah, invincibility after getting hit is currently on the top of my To-Do list and has been there for quite a while now. I guess it's about time I get to implementing it. Also chasers aren't actually infinite but they spawn for I think 10 waves. In one of the previous versions there was a counter for how many of them are left. Also I plan to make it so that if there are chasers in the room there should be less other enemies.
There should be a version until the end of the week that deals with lowering the difficulty. I seem to have a really hard time balancing it because it either gets too easy or too hard.

    2. Yeah it can be a tricky balance to strike. I think that if you gave the player more fire power (increase player and bullet speed) and added the invincibility after hit you wouldn't have to change too much honestly. That way you could keep the hectic nature of things but the player has more options at their disposal. As for the spawners adding the counter on the box that spawns them would inform the player well. Having rooms with chasers have less enemies would be fine too, but honestly I think as long as the player can move faster than them, they still provide a challenge without being too difficult to avoid even with other bullets. I look forward to the demo! Keep up the good work! :D
